Life Sucks, So You Eat
Why is it that most overweight people have had something traumatic happen to them or had a less than “Leave It To Beaver” childhood? Have you ever met an overweight person who has always had a pretty great life? I have! I am married to him. I am always trying to figure out what his “issue” is. LOL. My husband honestly cannot find anything that he can call a “trigger” to his being overweight. Are there other people who are just overeaters by nature or is he an anomaly?
I feel like I have been doing pretty decent on my eating today. I have eaten healthy foods today and have eaten healthy quantities. Yay for me!!! I was watching a Food Network special today and some of the FN stars were sharing some healthy recipes. Giada said something during her segment that I thought was really interesting. She said that a lot of people tend to put on weight during the winter because we are eating more “comfort” foods and that instead of going on a diet, we should just make an effort to eat healthier to help lose the weight put on during the winter. That’s great advice for people who have just put on a few extra pounds during the winter, but what about those of us who have put on a few extra pounds every winter for the past 10 years!!!
I guess those of us who struggle with food just have to take it one day at a time and not beat ourselves up when we make poor eating decisions, but vow to eat better at the next meal. I bet you’ve never heard that advice before, what an original thought. LOL. I hope everyone is doing well in their quest for a healthier life!

I never had a weight issue until I had my 2nd child. I lost all my weight after my first baby. Then with my second pregnancy I kind of just developed a love for food and then it never went away. I had a less then “beaver cleaver” childhood but I never used food for comfort until my 2nd pregnancy. Now, I am still battling my love for food and my emotional eating. good for you for making great choices today!!! Keep it up! Yes, one day at a time…
The funny thing about me is that after my first pregnancy, I lost quite a bit of weight and then it crept up again. Then, after my second child was born within a few weeks I weighed less than before I got pregnant. Now, I weigh about as much as the day she was born.
I HAVE ALWAYS STRUGGLED WITH WEIGHT ISSUES SINCE I WAS A CHILD SO I THOUGHT IWAS FAT THEN AT A WHOPING 138 LBS WHEN I FIRST MARRIED, AND WELL GEESE LOOOK AT ME NOW……….BOY HAVE I GROWN,SINCE IWAS 22..WELL A MARRIAGE LATER , AND MY FIRST HUSBAND THOUGHT I WAS HEAVY,, GEESE HE WOULD HATE ME NOW!!
BUT I AM ENGAGED TO A WONDERFUL MAN TEN YEARS LATER, AND PERSONALLY I HAVE ISSUES NOW WITH WEIGHT LOSS MORE THEN I EVER DID IN MY LIFE, I HAVE NO WILL POWER AND WELL WHO KNOWS IF ITS JUST FROM NATURE, I AM FAR FORM LAZY AND ALWAYS ON THE GO,, SO I WONDER IF ITS GENETIC, I DOUBT IT,, I AM A YO YO DIETER SO THEY SAY, I BINGE AND LOSE AND GAIN AND LOSE. BUT I WILL NOT GIVE UP.. SO WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER
I’ve had a pretty peachy life and have been overweight since I was a young child, it happens.
