Excess Skin
I watched an episode of Big Medicine and saw a story of a girl who was getting excess skin removed and thought what if that happens to me! I have seen many shows where people get excess skin removed, but for some reason this show really affected me. Does anyone know of some things I can do while I am losing weight to lessen the risk of having really saggy skin? I’ve had a pretty good week. Things would be even better if my shoulder would stop hurting so I could do some exercise.
LOVE this quote!

Hey hun!
Well, I have to admit I worry about that, too!
I was told the key to that is muscle mass. Especially in the arms and chest, and abs. That it helps a little, at least. Straight out arm lifts with weights, pushups, and crunches are what I was recommended once, but I have no experience with them.
Good luck with that, though, and if you discover anything, please let us all know!
It’ll all be okay!
Thanks.
The other major thing that contributes to excess skin is losing the weight too fast. Take it easy and don’t try for more than a couple pounds a week. That gives your skin time to recover and retain it’s elasticity.
I’ve watched these shows too, but remember that so many of the stories you see on TV are about people who were much heavier than the majority of dieters and have had to take extreme measures, like gastric bypass surgery, resulting in them losing MUCH more a lot quicker due to the extreme changes in their lifestyles, which is why they end up with the excess skin. Good luck!
